the brief

The brief that we received required us to work with several clients that all come under the Capita PLC umbrella. These companies were Knowledgepool, Capita Apprenticeships, Blue Sky and Brightwave, and all had separate requirements that needed to be fulfilled. From building and maintaining websites to providing SEO services, edirect were tasked with promoting awareness of the various campaigns that Capita PLC run.

To achieve these goals, we carried out many key services and encountered various problems along the way which we were required to overcome.

Generating interest in the project

the challenge

The first challenge was to build and maintain websites for each of the companies listed above. Each company served a different purpose and had its own set of goals which had to be taken into account. As such, each site had to be different while still being easily identifiable as being part of the Capita PLC brand. A similar challenge was faced when trying to implement SEO campaigns for each of the respective companies.

The next challenge we faced was in trying to promote awareness of the Capita PLC brand. This involved educating their target audience about the various campaigns that they run as well as the apprenticeships provided by Capita Apprenticeships. We needed to understand where Capita PLC stood in relation to their competitors and had to find a way to analyse the visitor’s journey through the various elements of their websites.

the solution

For the websites, we worked closely with the team from Capita PLC to design and build each of their websites. We designed each website with its own identity but did so in such a way that made this identity distinctly recognisable as being associated with Capita PLC. The Capita PLC branding was included so that the companies wouldn’t seem disconnected from the main entity.

For their SEO campaigns, we provided deep competitor analysis which allowed us to compare the traffic and messaging against that produced by Capita PLC. This gave us an indication of where their competitors were at with their own campaigns which enabled us to adapt our approach accordingly. A key goal of our client was to promote awareness, not only of their company but of their apprenticeship programmes too.

Our efforts helped to provide them with the awareness that they need to grow their brand further. We also successfully raised awareness of and encouraged participation in the government’s apprenticeships program. Finally, we reported heavily for Capita PLC, tracking the various elements of the visitor’s journey across the various websites.

This enabled us to provide the stakeholders with a detailed geographic and demographic breakdown of the visitors. This, in turn, enabled them to make more informed decisions about the direction of the company.
